Strange...Weird...Disgusting

Good Morning...so most of the educated homo sapiens on this earth start their morning with newspapers. Well what are newspapers...something covering up the news...things that happen around us...like they make you aware and ya 'responsible' too. ok gimme a break...tell me how does those disgusting photos of somebody's tragedy makes you 'aware'...Yeah they do make u aware of their grief's, on which you can say a "uff..oh" aloud but what about those who are there in those photos...
Who on this earth would want to be pitchured at the most disgusting and depressing moments of his/her life that too to be seen by every soul walkin on the surface this very same earth least concerned or bothered about that person...nobody would.
Well this journalism has lost all it's ethics...they intrude anybodies private life just for their profit..but to this extent...I don't understand why there ain't any rule to check this up...its disgusting

How very true.....
One mans problem is other man's entertainment....
but still it brings the harshness of life in front of those heartless people who have lost their sensibility to materialistic things......
its the way the world goes.....
lets accept it but at the same time try to do sumthin to avoid it too!!!

Yeah, what you say is correct but you are not entirely true. You can't just dismiss it as "who would want to see pics of tragedy?" If something happens, you would want to know what happens, wouldn't it? And a picture speaks a thousand words.

True, that journalism is not what it used to be today, but hey it's because of us people only. I mean, newspapers thrive on things like what small-time TV celebs do on a holiday, what is their fav. food etc. I personally wouldn't want to read this. But there are others who like reading such low IQ stuff - and that's the reason why newspapers provide them with what they want!

harshita :

this might sound harsh, but so it is.
every profession has ethics and there are people who break the ethics. there were cases of surgeons who have sold the photographs of their female patients bodies and sold it. there were cases of male sexologist who had taken mundane pleasure at the expense of their patients. there are bosses in big firms, who have exploited females to give them promotions etc. so there are ethics in each profession and there are people who break those ethics. we point our finger on journalists becuase we can see what they are doing, and as an intellectual we feel disgused and irritated at the degradation of journalists. but these are exceptions( in big nos, i admit), but they do not really form the part of real journalism, they are quack journalist.

i rem a case somewhere in north india, where a tv news channel has said that a girl accused her father of raping her repeatedly for some months and it was shown on the news channel with her father face in camera, but later after police investigation it was found that the girl was giving wrong statements and her father was a decent man , but by then the harm was already done, reputation of that simple man who had kept his life clean till then, was in mud , he could not face this agony and he commited suicide. so should we not accuse the news channel of murder ??

unfortunately it all boils down to two things. first, do we have law to prevent these exploitations ? , second, how effective can that law be implemented ?

yes journalists have strength to sway the masses, but they are finally humans and all they have is a job at hand, and so you have some good employees and some not so good employees and mostly its the owners of the news channel who are really bad, who wanna sell reality tv. but there are people like rajdeep sardesai , barkha dutt, prannoy roy and the likes, who prevent this profession of journalists from getting in deep muddy water. but the saviour is law and its effective use, in the long run.

U r absolutely right mate! It's disgusting how somebody's tragedy can be a nice read for someone else over their tea and biscuits..simply animalistic but unfortunately that's what today's journalism is all abt.

I want to read about these things. Tragedy changes ones life. For the better in most cases. People believe someone is watching them. Be it a mother, father, sister or brother, friend, the individual will feel the need to want to be a better person just from knowing the decased. Tradgedy plays a role in the very shaping our being. These losses should be felt forever in the hearts and minds of love ones. Everytime you read a story in the newspaper or see a clip on TV, think about that death, and learn from it. Because your own death will be here before you know it, and you'll want to know how to look good for the camera,-
